BPM Developer
BPM developer position available, located in Milton Keynes.
The role is to participate in a team developing Business Process Management (BPM) solutions delivering value for clients based upon a variety of BPM platforms, primarily (but not exclusively) using the market leading IBM BPM suite. Typically the role will require the maturity of approach gained with up to 3 years of experience in software development. Ideally up to 1 year of this time will have been spent gaining experience and insight in BPM.
A successful candidate will be expected to design and implement BPM processes and dashboards as well as implementing business requirements captured from Business Analysts or other Subject Matter Experts. Other key roles will include architecting/designing efficient and effective BPM solutions, implementing your own designs or those of others including business processes and user interface components. Further responsibilities will require you to become customer focused as you will be expected to provide customer support once the application is delivered into production and follow up with appropriate documentation including requirements, use cases, functional & design specifications, test plans, etc.
Generally teams are organised around projects and thus come together and are dissolved as projects start and are completed. The same developer may have different roles in different projects – sometimes even at the same time. Typically projects will have Project Sponsor and a Process Owner supplied by the client with Axispoint providing key delivery resources. Other key contacts will be with end users, business process experts, testers, and quality assurance and configuration management teams. The role may also require you to interact with supplier's sales execs and/or customer service personnel.
A successful candidate will bring a number of essential skills to the role. These skills will include excellent communication skills – both written and spoken; the ability to demonstrate a clear understanding by accurately “playing back” what was heard; and displaying confidence, knowledge and experience in the field as well as intelligent structured opinions about appropriate solutions.
Experience of working in a medium to large project environment, including an understanding of project roles, e.g. Project Manager, Subject Matter Expert, Product/Technical Architect, Testing, and Quality Assurance is desirable but not essential for this role. A good understanding of the importance of disciplines such as Defect Tracking, Source Control, Configuration Management, Risk Management and experience with a BPM tool such as Tibco iProcess, Pega, Appian, Global 360, Intalio, Java and/or .NET will be very valuable. Some experience of application servers e.g. JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere and/or Sharepoint and experience in process improvement will be very advantageous for any successful candidate.
