Mapping, Discovery & Analysis
At Axispoint we understand what it means for an Enterpriseto holistically focus on end to end process – we start by looking at event triggers on an external and internal basis that create work and help you to prioritise these events based on their value / cost. Typically we do this by helping you:
- Determine understanding in the business of what it means – value, aspirations, hopes, fears, implications – 1-2-1 interviews, structured questionnaires
- Educate key stakeholders through coaching, tools, skills, benchmarking and workshops
- Identify current events that impact costs, profits, cashflow
- From the inventory identify quick wins, big wins and pick 2 internal starter processes easily identified by everyone. For example:
- Expense to settlement process
- New Hire process
- Pick one process to improve through a dedicated project team
- Prioritise the processes
- Kick off with a starter process
- Build measures for the process
- Establish clear benchmark data for key process activities
- Establish some manual quick wins and use these as the front end to using LEAP
- The pick the 2nd most complex process
- Apply the same process as above
- Capture the learning
Below is an example of a high level HR process we have recently been working on. We use a Saas based modeling environment in order to maintain processes so that there is no redundancy and you have consistent auditable documentation.

Don’t forget the golden rules of modelling:
- The business users have to be able to use the tool
- It should become a repository of process artefacts
- The output must be exportable to a BPMS
- Activities must have costs / SLA & SME’s
- The modeling process must be owned by the business
- The first tested improvement of the model will be manual changes
- IT must be involved from the start of the exercise
