Turn a value based approach to BPM into value for business stakeholders

Free white paper - Bringing the Business and IT together

Click here to download this white paper today and see how you can achieve 40% savings from our LEAN methods in your first BPM project

In best practise BPM projects, at least 60% of the effort should involve change management and getting organisations to think about process in the business.

Unless the business process owner is fully engaged from the outset - the impact of any change to scope will not be understood and the usual scope creep will kill the project budget and delivery cycle.

This whitepaper draws on the 60 years’ experience of Axispoint Lean Consultants. We tell you how to use Lean best practice principles augmented by the best practices from numerous IT methods to deliver 90 day iterations that unlock value to business stakeholders and ensure that the execution gap between the business and IT is reduced, delivering vast process improvement.

You will learn to;

  • Align strategy, processes, tools, skills and culture around corporate objectives
  • Ensure teams and individuals have knowledge and tools to innovate quickly and consistently with corporate aims
  • Build trust through each step of the journey to bring business and IT together
  • Make IT a proactive partner in driving change through the enterprise

Find out how Axispoint LEAP methodologies will ensure your spend on IT contributes to agile processes and increased business performance.

Lean Methodologies - The Impact on IT

As the business embarks upon a Lean Programme for Process Improvement the impacts on IT are unknown, impossible to determine and anticipate. All too often we see outputs from Lean Workshops claim to drive sustainable value without an impact on the business applications that support users. The LEAN methodologies proposed are driven by data collected manually, changes in work practises and processes or a change in the role of some resources to address a bottleneck. This is where the frustration levels in a business rise and the time lag between identification and actionable scalable improvements start to eat away at the cultural change driven by employees embracing LEAN initiatives. Lean as a discipline encourages us all to focus on:

  1. Specifying value from the standpoint of the end customer.
  2. Identifying all the steps in the value stream eliminating those that add no value
  3. Ensuring that the flow supports the desired customer journey
  4. As the flow is introduced ensuring it delivers continuous value
  5. As these steps lead to greater visibility and measurement, pursuing perfection through continuous improvement.

Best practise Lean methodologies use tools and techniques to define processes, flows and measure value but FAIL to show how IT can support the new FLOW creation and development. This always comes further downstream in the programme as traditional process improvement disciplines always talk of manual change as a first step. There is another way - you can use your Lean programme to create a link between IT and the Business that has been traditionally broken or strained. At Axispoint we have the tools, methods and people to show you how to underpin Lean methodologies with an IT function that is capable of delivering daily process change.
